I’ve been trying real hard the last few weeks to get through all of the clothes and related accessories sewing that I’ve had on the back burner for the last few years. I’ve been steadily chugging along through my piles but I’ve got about 6 more things to do. Then, it’s onward to embroidered napkins and a few large quilting projects. In this shot, I am finishing the waistband on a 90 year old petticoat.

Okay, so I am a little behind on posting images for my Three Sixty Five. I’ve been busy working on my professional portfolio website, shelbymariephotography.com and this set of images that I shot at mom’s house over the weekend. These are just a few of my favorites from the shoot, which you can see in it’s entirety. Partially intended for documentation and partially for next year’s Christmas cards, I am really, really happy with the results of my labors. I was thinking both of “What would these look like in a magazine?” and “How do these fit with my Interior Lives project?”

The mud splatter pattern on his stomach and butt was impressive. Also, there is nothing quite like trying to give a dog a shower in a very small shower stall in a very small bathroom.

2012.01.04. Break action, 12 gauge. It’s got a little bit of a kick. Also, it’s ancient and clearly has had many owners.

Part of this project is to make myself photograph the things that I’ve always thought “I should take photographs of this thing that I live with that I find to be gorgeous.” I love all the small details on this simple shotgun.
